Learning about the Anthropocene, even as a non-expert lay person, is daunting. There’s a massive amount of self-education required to acclimate to a new era in history, with planet-wide impacts and concerning to every human, in every country, in every occupation, in every life situation.
Nor is “acclimation” enough. As Hannah Arendt has reminded us through recent posts on the Daily Inchoate, action is required. We can’t just think, or talk, or worry. We must do.
The Live Sust(ainabl)y project is a fantastic new resource for mindset change, information about key issues, and ways to take sensible action in everyday life.
How to combine taking action now, on a personal level, with long-term, continuous learning in an ever-changing world?
What to study? How to start and keep reading productively? Is it possible to develop your own, unique framework of knowledge and practice? Which resources and tools are available to help? Where should you lean in for major life areas including personal and family life, career and work, travel, and public participation and service?
Introducing… Pondercraft, a forthcoming new blog/newsletter for lifelong and lifewide learning.
It’s coming soon on Substack, by yours truly.
Thanks for reading! Watch this space.
